Holly

Meet Holly - this lil' gal is for a very special little girl, Hayley, my daughter who was most upset with me for deciding to sell my Shabby Annies. I guess she thought we'd keep them all and fill the house with dolls. So upon request from Hayley I have created Holly, with her chosen hair and dress. And she has a beaut little corsage to go on her wrist.

A few Shabby makings

I have been having a finishing up kind of week and finally tackled some of my unfinished projects! What a good feeling, I might have to do it a bit more often!!!

Some of my shabby pumpkins

A hessian and lace table runner - I love this it looks so good on the table, photos isn't the best as kids homework and tax papers are all over the table (that's my job for the weekend - boring old filing)

Hope you all have a nice weekend....

Lookie at my new toy!!!!

I got this beauty for my birthday present this year from my darling husband. I spent most of the weekend reading the manual and playing around with all the new stitches. Yes..... I did read the manual for the first time ever - because to tell you the truth, I was a bit scared when I looked at the machine, most complex machine I've ever had, and much bigger than my other little dinky sewing machines.

Now to create something with this beauty!!!

Thought I might join in JaM this week with Jody at......

JaM - taking Just a Moment to gather & share the things you have noticed, consumed, created &/or bought during your week....

So this week the kiddlywinks went back to school and I managed to get a few things done....

Shop for some lovely new fabrics for some more Shabby Annies dresses...

Hunt the thrift shops for some accessories for Shabby Annies...

A lady was admiring my Shabby Annies and asked me if I could make her some headbands like the ones on the dolls - so here is my first attempt...

My greatest find of the week!!!
A vintage Singer cantilever sewing box!!!

I couldn't believe my luck - when I got to the local markets a dear lady at a stall had this tucked under her table waiting for me. I had missed her at a few markets over the months as I have been away or too busy to get down to them. But apparently in May, I saw her at the markets and had been having a chat with her about how much I'd wanted one and had thus far been unable to find one within my price range or in good condition. So all my Christmas's came at once - I got this beauty for $20!!!

I have only been dreaming about one of these for 4-5 years so my patience has paid off in the end. My dear hubby is going to fix up the broken bit of veneer on the front and clean it up for me - it's moments like these that make all the stressful and emotional days disappear.  There are certainly some lovely and thoughtful people out there.

Hope you all have a lovely week this week too  xoxo

Finally!!!

Hi my name is Paula and it's been 2 months since my last post......

Hope everyone is well. It has been a fairly busy few weeks, but am glad now that things are settling down a bit. And it's my first full winter here, so the weather has helped to slow down things a bit.
But I still managed to find the time to make some new dolls. I took some photos of the girls today to get ready to sell,  I couldn't wait any longer to show them off!!!

Meet the newbies....

Lizzy

 Ruby

 Grace

I am so excited about the beret that I made for Grace, I am going to try out a few more of these in the future!

Betty

I have been having endless fun creating these girls, exploring all the different ways of adding vintage charm to them each with vintage jewelry, doilies, napkins and hankies. I hope you like them.
